Summary:
AGAT Laboratories is looking for a Full-Time Lab Technician to join our Ontario Air Lab. The Lab Technician B is the second level position into the laboratory. This position is given direction from the Laboratory Supervisor and assists with the administrative and basic laboratory activities. This position will be based in our Mississauga location.  

Responsibilities:   

  • To analyze air samples by GCMS.
  • To follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  • To prepare TO15a standards and samples for analysis.
  • Schedule samples so that all rush and standard TAT guidelines are met.
  • To interpret and report all samples in LIMS so that all TAT is met.
  • To maintain and troubleshoot GCMS and Entech systems.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Clean and proof equipment.
  • Prep and packing of air sampling equipment.      
Qualifications:  
  • Proficiency with GC/MS instrumentation is a requirement.
  • Mechanical inclination required.
  • 2-3 years of laboratory experience required.
  • Technical Diploma or Degree required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Time management skills essential.
  • Good record keeping skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
  • High level of work production in fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Manual dexterity is required.
  • May involve long periods of sitting and standing.
  • Compliance with established safety procedures and appropriate PPE.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
