Geotechnical Technician – Entry Level - Full Time

AGAT Laboratories is currently looking for a Geotechnical Technician for a full time entry-level opportunity. The role is a junior level position and will assist in data collection and running of geotechnical tests. This position is given direction from the Supervising Geotechnical Engineer and Managers.

Duties:

Carry out lab testing according to standards and lab procedures.
Report lab observations to the geotechnical engineer.
Assist in maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.

Qualifications:

Able to lift up to 50 pounds and traverse uneven terrain.
Able to work overtime, and weekends, if needed.
Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.
Attention to detail and strict adherence to procedure
Fluent in English, both verbal and written communication
Experience working in a laboratory setting (not required but considered an asset)
1+ years of soils, aggregate, and/or concrete testing experience (not required but considered an asset)

Work Environment:
This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. Employees will interact with dust, noise and chemicals during shifts. PPE is required where applicable.
